Mac ED/EA 2025

Probably just a glitch then, I wouldn’t worry too much ab not having it.

I have it. Not sure what that necessarily means.

Nope…

It’s in the middle of the application checklist, or at least it was for me. It was also marked as “received” but I was able to click on it and it led to a survey.

What is the survey about?

It asks about virtual sessions and opportunities to connect with faculty and students…

isla701: Did it ask if you attended these events and how mush they influenced your decision? Or was it asking if you are interested in participating in such an event?

My daughter attended virtual visits, prospective athlete virtual sessions, and interviewed with admissions. Not sure why she didn’t get… maybe a bad sign.

It was asking about participation in the future. I’m trying not to get overconfident but it seemed like good news. However, seeing as so many people here did not get it, I would very much hesitate to say that not getting it is bad news. I believe in your daughter!

It is showing up on my kid’s portal. I suspect somebody at Mac has jumped the gun and posted the link to the portals of admitted students before the official emails have gone out. The survey is clearly asking admitted students certain specific questions to help cater Macs future programs towards them. Of course, by the same logic, it could have been posted on wrong portals and may not mean that the students who see it have actually got admitted!

Now I see it. But it is actually in the checklist like the application and the teacher recs. It has a check beside it. Dated mid November. Since we are usually checking with phones we can only see this: “Received Early Action Admitted”. It’s a hyperlink (underlined) and does go to a survey. Honestly it may have been there for weeks and we just didn’t notice. Thought it was one of the items we turned in as part of the app. It’s right under the Common App received checked item.

Now I see it too. My son’s is dated 12/5, but I have no idea when it showed up as it’s right in the middle of his checklist. Could have been there for awhile - I suspect it doesn’t mean anything.

I’ve seen this survey at the top of my checklist since last evening. I didn’t ask any of my friends applying EA to Mac, but I guess that means nothing cuz having those questions before the decision comes out is quite weird.

It really is! Today is the worst day for waiting!

FWIW…my D was admitted ED and doesn’t have the survey on her checklist. She also participated in virtual visits and prospective athlete sessions. Strange.

Yea I don’t see it either. A little worried.

By the looks of the survey, the goal of the questions is to find out what virtual events would help an admitted but uncommitted student decide to commit to Mac. If a student applied ED, then that student has already committed, so no need for these events (although I can see how such events still might be interesting to an ED applicant…stuff like talk to current students and faculty).

I didn’t see it at first. It’s buried in with the other checklist items like common app and teacher recs. S’s has a date in mid November next to it, just like all the other items have a date.

It’s on my profile as well but don’t want to get hopes up- I would go with assuming it’s a glitch until further notice

If it has a date that means it was completed already by your student. Interesting, I wonder if they are pushing the surveys out to more (all?) of the kids now.

Not great timing for something new to arrive in the portal with a subject line that makes you believe it is positive, but may mean anything. And the waiting continues;)

S did not complete it. Didn’t even know about it. Still hasn’t completed it. And I agree about timing, it is frustrating.
