I dunno which type of labtop i should get, so i was wondering if at UCI it mattered what type you had, im a film and media arts major so im leaning towards a mac for the easyness of Imovie and what not... Please provide input.

^ What's up w/ your name.. boo USC... BOOOO! (yea... I got rejected :-))

It doesn't matter. Go with a Mac if you're in the arts.

I don't think it really matters what laptop you have at UCI. It's more of what you want your laptop to be used for. Though I like the iBook and Powerbook's sleek design and iMovie is great, I'd personally still buy a regular laptop, like a Dell, and cuztomize it to whatever I need.

Get a mac ;). I love my mac (actually I'm a campus rep for Apple) so I'm a tad biased. But macs have better resale value, can dual boot MAC OSX AND Windows XP courtesy of the new software Boot Camp if you've got an intel machine, and it's just sexier looking.

Mac. Unix* is far better for intermediate->advanced media design.
