Hey, who is bringing a mac or a pc? Which is better for college? And are both compatible wirelessly on campus?

i’m bringing my macbook; i can’t live without it lol. i did an overnight stay with a sophomore about two months ago. most of the students there had macs, but there were a few pc’s. she also said that the freshman dorms (travers wolfe) are not wireless so we’d have to bring an ethernet cable. she also suggested buying a lock for our computers; she said a handful were stolen her freshman year. what a ****ty thing to do.

Im probably going to get a macbook for graduation, Im excited about being able to just bring your computer to class and just type stuff instead of writing it xD laziness is awesome…

That sucks, im not worried though, ill put my name on it!

Working in the IT department, i can certainly say that there are more PC’s than Macs on campus. It really depends a lot on what you’re going to use the computer for. If you’re just going to use it for papers and web browsing, go for a Mac. If you’re going to be playing video games and getting programs for classes on your computer so you don’t have to use the labs, get a PC.

Is there any disadvantages on campus for either one?

I’ve heard people have problems connecting to the HUB with Macs.
