Is it wise to go ahead and get the MAcc directly after receiving a bachelor's degree, or is it better to gain some work experience and get an MBA?

The "better" degree depends on what you want to do. A MAcc will set you up nicely to take the CPA exam and for an accounting career. With an MBA you have more choices. The advantage of getting a MAcc is that you don't have to get any work experience before you get it, you can just go get it right after you graduate. An MBA doesnt work that way.

It basically just comes down to whether you want to be an accountant or not.
