Yesterday Shaun Alexander broke his foot to extend the curse. Even though injuries aren't rare in football, I now believe in the curse. He hasn't missed a game in four years and now he's out hopefully just til midseason.

I would like to add that anyone who thinks that their team can now beat the 'hawks is entirely mistaken. This team has never revolved around Alexander; Shaun has been key and the Seahawks will miss him but not as much as you would think. The backup, Mourice Morris, is solid and very quick. I fully expect him to average 90+ yards per game while he's starting. Plus, Seattle has 3 very strong wide recievers and Nate Burleson who's had some trouble with dropped passes. This means 4 WR sets where everyone is a threat. Do you know how hard that is to defend. The Giants sure as hell do now. Next week Seattle faces the Bears and the best defence in the NFL. If(when) the Seahawks beat them I will guarantee a 14-2 season and another trip to the Super Bowl.

the seahawks will be fine w/o alexander (even though he is on my FF Team!). They have four WR that are always a threat and a good QB. Also, Jeramy Stevens, their starting TE, is coming back soon. the SEA defense is solid.

Yeah, the curse is real. Marshall Faulk, Daunte Culpepper, and Michael Vick all went down with injuries the season they were on the cover. And there were a few more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

^ dont forget ray lewis...that damned curse caused him to have a shoulder injury and every single game he didnt play in...we lost.

and the curse is real...the seahawks are gonna have to revert to their running game sooner or later in the season, and winning is not going to be easy

The creation of "curses" is just the way that people cope with bad incidents. They pass the blame on to some mystical thing that is completely made up. How many athletes have been on the cover of Sports Illustrated? And how many were injured? A very small proportion. These are just statistical anomalies.

Yes you can! Like I said, take the number of people that were on the cover of SI and then take the number of people who got injured each year (1) and figure out the ratio. It's really big, right? Like 100:1. Football is the most dangerous of the well-known sports, so it would make sense that it happens in football often.

oh, my bad. I guess I didn't pay attention. The discussion made it sound a lot like the SI 'curse'. I guess this nullifies pretty much all of my arguements. Have fun!

Early on Sunday against the Giants, I thought the league may ban the four wide set as it really wasn't fair. Then the hawks relaxed a bit and created a game of it. We're still waiting to see four quarters of consistent football. When that happens, it will be like the big kids playing the little kids at recess.

SA will be missed, but the tools are in place to do fine w/o him. This team had alot of injuries last year and guys step up. Right now management has done a good job collecting team players. So watch the games and enjoy the office until the commissoner bans the four wide. :) why? Because it's Seattle and we're still a bit upset over the superbowl. :) Even Sunday it wasn't what the hawks were doing to the giants, it was the giants playing poorly..hello? the hawks had something to do with that.
