Hi everyone. I received an email today congratulating me about a scholarship from the College of Business Scholarship Committee. I was so excited about it, until I got another email no too long ago saying that the sender would like to recall the message. Did anyone else receive this too?

That’s a tough one! How awful for you! I think there are two possibilities here. 1) If you did apply as a Business major, the possibiity does exist that you received a scholarship. However, maybe they email was sent prematurely. Perhaps Madison has a date all scholarship emails go out, or letters are supposed to arrive first, and someone hit the “send” button too early. 2) Alternatively, it could be a mistake and the email was sent to you due to human error. Either way, I think you should call the Scholarship office and tell them your story.

Good luck!

Yes, we received it too. It was definitely a huge mistake, on the one email, approximately 100 other people’s scholarship letters were listed, along with my sons letter. Not very happy with the privacy violation. Everyone’s name and addresses were on each letter.

Wow, that is seriously bad!

They sent an apology for the mistake, but good news alc312, your scholarship award is official and will be in the mail soon!
