<p>"That's just not true. Minnesota's peers are Iowa, MSU, maybe Ohio State. Wisconsin's include Michigan, UCLA, Texas, Cal, etc. They are similar schools, sure. Big Ten, large, sports, research, good grad programs ... but Wisconsin beats Minnesota 2:1 in cross-admit battles, has student from around the country consistently applying (how many OOS schools consistently send 10+ to Minnesota? not many. Wisconsin has them in CA, MA, MN, MI, IL, and more), and 70 departments in the top ten nationally, not to mention higher caliber students."</p>
<p>You can not say that one school is clearly better then the other. There is no employer, or graduate school, that is going to unequivocally favor a person with a UWI degree over another with a UMN degree if they have the same GPA, research experience etc. (UMN degree within the CLA maybe the exception) Also, UMN recruits from just as many states, and countries, as UWI. Oh, and I happen to be a 10+ OOS student and have other friends who are in the same position with ACT scores all over 33. As for the comment about higher quality students at UWI, it is simply arbitrary and untrue.</p>
