Mail

How does the mail work at UCI? If I'm living in Mesa Court does the actual person from the Post Office come to your dorm and give it to you, or is there a universal collection place somewhere?

What kind of address do you get? Is it going to resemble that of an apartment?

Also can you order packages to the dorms?

There’s a mailroom with boxes right next to the Mesa Commons.
I’m pretty sure your address will be (i think it’s your Hall#) Mesa Road (#suite/room#), Irvine, CA 92617
Also, you can order packages, you’ll pick them up in the mailroom as well. They’ll email you if there’s a package.

Aaaah, okay. They’ll email you for a package, huh? That’s interesting.

Is that a new thing or is it just for Mesa? Haha I guess M.E. is old fashioned because you have to check your mailbox for a packaging slip if you have a package, and then you can pick it up from the mail room. If you never checked your mailbox you would never know :p

Wait so the mailbox is different from the mailroom?

And just to double check, Mesa Commons was the place to get food, right?

sorry if i’m wrong about the emailing, i can’t remember if they did email + slip, or just one. i can’t check my emails either because it’d been too long.

Mesa Commons is where you get food, the place you get your mail i think is called the MAC. It has a study area but there are also mailboxes and a person in an area next to the boxes where you can pick up your packages… so the mail room/mailboxes are like the same thing. pretty sure you have to bring your ID, so always remember that.

At Mesa, you do get an email each time a package arrives.
