Mailbox Paranoia?

Who else is dashing to the mailbox everyday in the hopes of (many) large envelopes? Only to find catalogs, junk mail, and college brochures from places that you've never heard of?

My decisions don't even come till April and I'm frantic already. >_<

Probably not too many. From what I've found, electronic admission is the way to go these days. :P

I have been every day for two months now! I've already recieved several acceptances, but I'm expecting more decisions within a couple weeks. and having a weekend like this with two mail-less days in a row is really hard!

Ohhhh I know. The other day I asked my mom if we'd gotten any mail and she was like...nooo, it's sunday... and I was like well, did I get any mail yesterday then? XD

I'm seriously in love with my mailbox. But I'm getting a little tired of no letters from the colleges I've applied to... we get a lot of junk mail. x.x And I'm still getting a fair amount of mail from other colleges still trying to entice me to apply, most of which I've never heard of.

Join the club, kids. My D is also a mailbox lover now. She's got an admissions decision coming up before Feb. 1st. The rest aren't due until March.

Ya'll need to chill. Here's the advice I gave my D: I think you all need to channel your energy another way; volunteer? take up a new hobby? read more?

I know....I'm ALWAYS waiting for the mailman. And my decisions don't come until March and April. But still...

Yeah guys...calm down. Everything will work out. :)

However, it feels like spazzing out and falling in love with your mailbox is the only thing that you can do... kind of.

Maybe I should take up coin collecting or something. XD

haha, just on a light note, a girl on my street literally "camped out" in front of her mailbox for 2 days when her harvard letter was coming last year. and when she got in she let out this scream so loud everyone thought there was some danger going on.

lol....i don't check the mail box, i just assume i'll get in my ED II, Emory. So right now i'm like, hey dad, have you ordered your plane tickets to ATL? Hey i heard ATL doesn't snow that much, so can i sell that xterra and buy civic instead? Hey i need flip flops, it'll be useful in that weather.....etc. It'll be a huge bummer if i don't get in.....

betterday, don't be overconfident. I'm only saying this because I was making plans and stuff before I got my letter and I was crushed when I got rejected.

So now I'm taking a more aloof approach.

I get in, I get in. I don't, I go somewhere else. ^^

And that story about the girl camping out in front of her mailbox is funny. I definitly know some people who would try that.

where did you apply ED Backtothestars?

It's worse if you get your mail a month after it's sent! (International)

I'm always dashing to the mailbox for no particular reason as well.

finally done with the longer weekend, and ready for another day with mail and possible acceptances!

im sorry....i think i have a problem...i do that way too often nowadays...like in 2.5 hours the mail will come and i will hug the mailman again.

SQUEE. I love my mailbox, I got two acceptences today.

Sure, they were safety schools... but I still jumped up and down. I refrained from hugging my mailbox just because it's kind of dirty. x.x

lol, my mailbox is attached to the wall, so it's difficult to hug.

Mine is... well, free standing. But it's nasty and needs replacing.

I'm always walking home from school, all like LALALALA and then I usually walk a little faster once I see the mailbox. It's like YAY COLLEGE MAIL!

And... I'm a little crazy. XD So don't mind me.

Yay, UNC stuff came today. But even that wasn't very exciting since I've known the decision for almost 2 weeks now (more like a month with the likely letter). I'm afraid I'm done with the mailbox until RD.. =(
