Mailing packages compliment

Giving credit where credits is due! US postal service…I mailed two packages last Friday and they were delivered on Tuesday. I mailed four packages on Tuesday and they were delivered today!

All fixed rate priority mail. But all so fast!

Giving credit where credit is due!!

Another compliment—last night and tonight when I went to drop off packages into the parcel drop box at 2 different post offices, the kiosk worked to let me scan the pre-printed labels and the parcel drop box wasn’t locked or clogged so I didn’t have to go to another post office or wait for the next day to put my boxes in the mail. Yay!

I’ve been doing this . I feel like we get a lot of packages and our drivers are great! 'Alexa, thank my driver': Here’s the simple way Amazon customers can show delivery drivers appreciation this holiday season

USPS, UPS–great. FedEx–Nooooooooooooooooo.

At the height of 2020 COVID a FedEx driver came down the driveway and to avoid contact, I suggested he just leave the package in the middle of the driveway–he now does that EVERY TIME. Just this week got a FedEx delivery that tracking said was handed to me—I found it in my mailbox at 10 PM.

Another thumbs down for FedEx. I got delivery confirmation Thursday that a gift had been delivered. Receiver was home all day and no one came to the door and the package was nowhere to be found. I started the painful process with the company to send a replacement but the package was miraculously delivered the next day.

I don’t know why they bother with the tracking if it’s so inaccurate!

I know this is suppose to be a positive thread, so hate to be the Debby Downer. I live in a townhome community where our street numbers are posted at the front door and garage if ones floor plan is set for two sided entry. Daily, and maybe more than once a day, a neighbor will post on our group page that packages show delivered at their door, with a photo of the door, and it isn’t their door. This happens with UPS, FedEx, Walmart, and grocery stores. Or someone posts that there are bags of groceries left at their door that do not belong to them. Then there are the USPS deliveries that are marked delivered 1-3 days before they actually arrive.

Our USPS mail person has larger mailboxes to put packages in at our central mailboxes. Our regular guy is pretty good, but the subs leave a lot to be desired. They have a habit of putting packages in one of the large boxes, but fail to leave a key in our regular box, so if you have Informed Delivery, and think a package has been delivered, you have to open all the unlocked boxes to find your package.

Personally, I have had the best delivery with Amazon. Once I did have a package show delivered, and I could see by the picture it was at my garage, but when I got home, it wasn’t there. When I looked closely at the delivery photo, it looked like an empty bag, with marked out address. My theory is, the driver faked a delivery by taking a picture of an empty bag. Online chat with Amazon for less that 5 minutes; the item was resent and arrived in 2 days. Hope the driver is enjoying his art kit for a 3 year old!

I got a wonderful surprise gift on Friday morning delivered by USPS Priority Mail before 7 a.m. It had been sent out just two days prior from states away. Both the sender and I were surprised.

I was irked that I had an envelope returned to me that was >1/2” thick and had postage stamps and had not been handed to a mail clerk. Had to go to the post office to hand it to the clerk so it could be mailed. While there, I was delighted to get flat rate padded envelopes (which are rarely ever in stock at the post office). I was able to get enough to mail all the ceramic mugs that S wants to sell and send out. It they are adequately boxed and bubble wrapped the arrive intact and in excellent condition. Kudos to the post office for having them in stock.

Another boo to FedEx ground. One of their drivers dumped a box full of catfood on the curb just by the entry into our long driveway. But mysteriously the next driver left cat litter by the garage door.

Big kudos to our mailman. He always makes sure our packages are safely tucked behind the row of shoes on the porch.

And god save the king if a store trusts my purchase to OnTrack…

Here I thought I was the only one that was really upset with FedEx deliveries! The post office and Amazon have been great this year!

I am really surprised at how fast the post office is working to get packages, where they need to get to, before the date stamped on the receipt!

I too echo the Priority mail bubble wrap that they have behind the counter, that they don’t give out unless you ask. In most cases it’s a lot cheaper than sending the cardboard priority mail box.

Yesterday I got to the post office before 10 a.m. Yes, there were lines, but they were manageable and efficient. I had four boxes to ship all over the country and everyone is getting their package either Wednesday or Friday (Hawaii).

Edited to add: I just got a text from my sister in law in Central California and she already got her package. It was expected to be delivered on Wednesday and she got it first thing this morning on her porch!

I kid you not - I ordered forever stamps from the USPS- on the 13th and they say it will be here tomorrow. It must have been the women cryptologist ones that snagged the delivery time. Also they charged a handling fee of $1.50. At least there was no shipping charge. UPS and USPS and Fed Ex have been doing a great job. No problems there.
