If I want to send an application by mail but I want a nice, typed version of the commonapp, can I just fill it out online and mail the print-preview version? Why does the website say not to do this?

You can. But why not just send it online? Most colleges prefer it that way, and may be irked to see that you were indeed able to complete the forms online, but ignored their request.

My counselor is sending a fee waiver request though I didn't use one for the collegeboard, due to changing financial circumstances. I can't do that online, so I have to send things by mail.

Wait, so you can't just send in that piece by mail and your app online?

you can.. send in the fee waiver by mail and the app online
