Main essay about the activity of the short essay

what do you think...specifically with regard to the common application

recommended/not recommended and why?

bump.....should the main essay and the supplemental essay be focused on the same activity?? Especially u wrote about ur most meaningful activity in the main essay and in the supplemental they ask u for the most meaningful activity????....

bump....please

is this for yale? if they ask supplemetal for mos meaningful why do you still want to write in the main essay?

no...generic common app...

ok if in themain essay if sort of only give it a cursory mention, but in the short essay you expand on it, then that's fine, otherwise, do one or the other

Yea, I agree with Jay. If you have something to expand on, go for it if you feel it’s worthwhile!

rocking my Es. You’ve replied to posters who asked for help in 2004 and 2005. It’s likely that these people have graduated college already.

please note when the original thread was started and when the last reply/activity on the thread took place.

In general, no. The two should not be on the same topic.

I don’t think the short essay’s enough room to write about a particular activity, but it’s certainly the most important to me, so would it be weird if I wrote my main essay about this and then the short essay about something else?

If you really want to do this, maybe you could write about a specific experience related to the EC in one essay, and a more global, general “what it means to me/how it made me who I am, yada yada” in the other?

hahahahah 2005 good call T26
