I am a Philosophy and Computer Science double major. I just noticed that I have essentially completed an Engineering minor as well. Should I declare it?

Reservations: I think that double majoring and a minor just sounds unfocused.

Pluses: I want to do Computer Engineering in graduate school and the minor might make me seem slightly more qualified.

Considering it doesnt require me to do much extra work (1 class) what do you guys think? I would greatly appreciate pros, cons, and advice. Thanks.

I would say go for it. I’m only a HS junior, so i’m not claiming to know a lot about this stuff, but I’m assuming that you can explain why you declared the minor in a grad school admissions interview or some such thing. Just keep in mind that schools will realize that there’s more to your story than what’s on your application.

absolutely go for it. It dosen’t sound unfocused and if you still really feel it does you can always explain that you only needed one more class on your app for grad school.
