Major Career Advice Needed

Dear all,

I'm a sophomore at a top ten US News University who needs some advice. I've been excellent at science all my life, and also have been very interested in politics and social issues, so I thought medicine was the career for me. However, once I took my first advanced general chemistry course, I received a C+. The next semester, because I unfortunately decided to overload, I received a withdraw passing in a non science course. However, I have still maintained a 3.74 overall GPA. I was wondering if it is still feasible for me to aim at a top medical school or not, if I decided to choose a science major and make top grades and a good MCAT score for here on after. Thanks for your help.

Why a "top" med school? Do you not plan to be a doctor if you can't get into a top medical school?

I think I agree with Norcalguy.

To most people a med school is a med school. Just do your best and apply, I spoke with an admissions counselor for a medical school and he said to get into Harvard, Upenn, etc...there are NO guarantees.
