I need help with picking a major, I have always been interested in science but I absolutely hate the math that is always tacked onto it. I was considering a Bio Technology as my major but didn't think about how much math was in it. As of now my mom and I are getting into a huge dispute about finding work after college if I was to get a broader major like a f. language, buisness, or something general. I was hoping somebody can steer me in the right direction.

I like: science, japanese, english (writing/analysis not so much grammar), little bit of art
I dislike: heavy loads of math

Please help me out!

You know - I really don’t think anyone can tell you right now what major to pursue… The point of college is to find out what you really want to do and to be honest you probably will be shifting majors around for a couple years.

Pick a major right now that you THINK you will be happy in. Take a couple intro classes and see if the major fits you. Ask around campus on what people of that major generally do after graduating. You need to explore yourself… I am currently a freshman and I have to tell you that at least 30% of the people in my major, who I started with in the first semester have switched out. And another 30% who haven’t switched out are considering other majors for next year…

Tell your mom what she wanted to be when she was your age and what she is now. I am sure she will understand.
