Major Impacted?

Hey everyone,

I'm transferring to USC as a transfer and I wanted to know what people on this forum think.

Do you think USC gives admission to transfers based on if their major is impacted or not? For example Business compared to English or History?

Just asking and wondering, thanks.

The majors are never impacted at USC (meaning kids at USC do not have trouble getting the classes they need, etc), but certain Schools (Marshall, Cinema, Thornton) have a set number of admits and special criteria (talent, ECs, etc) to be met that sometimes go beyond those for College of LAS (Dornsife).

It is generally thought that the Dornsife majors are the most open with regard to spaces available and must only pass the review of the general admissions office. Applying to a specific School, however, could give a boost to a student with particular talents and awards. Just depends.

best of luck.

USC is a private university. It does not have impacted majors.
