Hello!
I am a student that is about to enter my first semester of college. It is 3 AM in the morning and thoughts about my future are running wild.

I am really interested in the business field (my mother has owned a business ever since I was born).

However, here is my dilemma. I do not know if I should major in Accounting or Finance. I've been reading around and I hear that accounting will give me a better business-oriented education. The thing with this is that, I also hear that accounting is boring and I am not boring nor do I want to pursue in a boring career.

In finance, I do not know what jobs can flourish from this but it sounds intriguing. However, I hear that a finance degree is only worth something if it came from a prestigious school (of which I am not attending).

I am a person who is highly-socially active. I can not stand a job that will confine me. Ultimately, I want to own and run a business down the road.

So my question is, should I major in Accounting or Finance? (or perhaps something else?)

P.S.- I come from a state school, San Diego State. The accounting program here is great but I am not sure about the Finance program.

Well thanks for any future advice for my gridlocked mind.

Tooooodalu.
