Major in bus econ/ econ minor in...?

I've been accepted to UCLA's bus econ program for fall 2011 as a ccc transfer and I'm currently thinking of switching into just plain econ. I've been looking at the minors they offer and found quite a few interesting ones and wanted to know how they could help me after graduation in the job market and whether they would be useful. The minors I'm looking at are global studies, urban planning, anthropology, and geography. Anthropology seems the least practical but is the one I'm most interested in. Is there any use in minoring in anthro? How difficult/useful would it be to have a minor as a transfer student in an already demanding major?

Stick with business econ if you want to get a good business related job after college. And minor in what you are interested in. Unless you minor in math/stat or comp sci (i believe they complement an econ major well) , it will not assist you when looking for a job.

Use your minor as an opportunity to study what you are interested in, because minors rarely provide much tangible professional value.

Go with the accounting minor since it’s only 3 more classes in addition to Biz Econ and it’ll give you the accounting units necessary for the CPA exam. As for anything else, it’s up to you. I know some people doing a Specialization in Computing to make them more marketable for accounting/business jobs in the tech industry.
