Major in Illustration/Animation BFA and minor in CS?

I’m in my first semester of college and my plan was to get into the BFA animation track, and I recently started wondering if I should minor in something to compliment it, but mostly to have some sort of back up career to fall back on.

I was curious about computer science, but I don’t know if minoring in it would be beneficial for my major or even useful by itself. I don’t particularly need to have a high paying job from it, just a job to get me enough as I look for other opportunities related to my major. I had also considered psychology or a business minor, but I’m not sure.

Animation and digital art is currently the only thing I’m most interested in, but CS seems interesting, but I haven’t taken any classes in it, so I wouldn’t know if I had any passion for it. From what I’ve seen from other’s posts, a major in CS and minor in art is better, but I don’t think there’s an animation minor.

I also heard graduating with a BFA in 4 years is hard, and adding a minor wouldn’t make it any easier, but I’d like to know if it would be practical first.

So, is it worth minoring in something, and is a CS minor alone worth anything?
