<p>My son is fortunately accepted in Yale. He is un-decided on his major yet, but, leaning to Econ or International Relation with minor on CS or Math. Comparing to other Ivies, how good is Yale doing on those subject? What are the most popular majors in Yale. What are the majors in Yale which can claim it is #1, and blow other Ivies away ? </p>
<p>I thought he was looking at P, S & UChicago, why are you only asking about schools in this athletic conference?</p>
<p>Academically all these schools will provide him what he needs and much more in any of those fields. Instead of being concerned with rankings, why not search for the one that suits him best and where he’ll be happiest, based on location, curriculum (eg. Core/DS), college culture, etc.? Has he visited any of the schools?</p>
<p>Yale obviously has many top-notch departments, but its History, english, and Political Science departments tend to be ranked the highest (they’re pretty much always in contention for 1 globally, and are almost always at least within the top 5). Its economics ranking is always within the 3-10 range, too.</p>
<p>However, with regard to the other ivies, it’s hard to say. They’re 7 of the best schools in the world, so I doubt any of them houses any department that blows the others out of the water.</p>
