Major/Minor?

I'm going to be a freshman at UNC this Fall, and I have a few questions about my major and minor:

I applied as a Biology major with a minor in Marine Biology. I really love art and writing, so I'm thinking of changing either my major or my minor. I'm pre-med (going to vet school), and I was wondering if there was a huge difference between having a major in Biology or Marine Biology?

If I were to change it, I would have my major in Marine Biology and have a minor in either Art or Journalism. What do you think? Thanks for the advice!

There is no Art minor, just fyi.

Oh, really? I just assumed there was some sort of major/minor in the visual arts category. What is the closest thing?

[UNC : ACADEMICS : MAJORS](http://admissions.unc.edu/academics/majors.htm)

It looks like marine sciences is only a minor.

I would recommend just taking some courses in a field you are interested in. You are allowed 2 majors and a minor or 1 major and 2 minors though.

Thanks for the link!

In that case, I would choose Biology as my major with minors in Studio Art and Marine Sciences.
