Major undecided? (SEAS)

<p>is there any disadvantage (however slight) in selecting ‘undecided’ for major instead of specifying one?</p>

<p>well, i’m very certain about my major (mech engg) but the thing is, the rec from my phy teacher might not be as good as one from my chem teacher. and UPenn recommends getting a rec from the teacher who is teaching you a subject related to your major.</p>

<p>am I better off ticking ‘mech engg’ and getting a rec from my phy teacher’s rec OR ‘undecided’ and having a slightly better rec from my chem teacher?</p>

<p>I don't think putting undecided would affect you. There are plenty of Curriculum Deferred (ie undecided) freshmans.</p>
