Major Undecided?

Hello,

I wanted to ask what are the pros and cons when choosing the "undecided" major? How many students have applied with the same major? And when you got accepted into the school, what classes are you going to take?

bump 10 char

bump bump bump

pros to being “undecided”

you can finish all your gen ed requirements
you can take intro classes in what your interested in and get a feel for the field
(if you dont like it then it probably will count towards a gen ed anyways)
less stress (especiall as a freshman) you can just work on “finding yourself”
save time; not constatly switching majors and taking classes you dont need

cons—none really except for stupid freshman saying “YOU DONT HAVE A MOJOR YET?”

TAKE YOUR TIME college really isnt a race, your better off finding something you like, pacing yourself, and getting a high GPA instead of switching your major a bunch of times and having a bunch of useless credits.

As long as you know you do not want to study engineer or astrophysics or something you need to start the first semester of your freshman year than it is perfectly fine being undecided. Something like 50 to 60 percent of college students change their college major at least once. Just note that at a lot of University you apply to a school or college within the University, engineering, business, theatre, fine arts, and liberal arts and science. If you are undecided you usually apply to the arts and science. School if you think you might want to do something like engineering, business or theatre you should apply their and if you decide you want to do something else (ie in the arts and science school) then it is a lot easier internally transferring to the arts and science school then trying to transfer there later.
