Hey! I was wondering if there is a possibility to do a BS/MBA AND a BA/MA or just any two types of accelerated programs. Is this possible? I was thinking somewhere along the lines of Biomedical or Aeronautical Engineering, Music, and maybe a language, buisness admin, or education. Is it possible to enrol in two accelerated programs while applying for college? If so, how do you do it? Any help will be appreciated.
Engineering is often very hard to double major with – it usually has a lot of class requirements, and they have to be taken in a strict order.
What is your reasoning behind wanting to pair up those fields?
No. Enrolling in ONE accelerated program is difficult enough, for the very fact that it is accelerated - although some of your graduate classes count towards the BS part usually you are taking a heavier course load than other students. There are also often specific sequences in which you have to take classes in order to be ready for the graduate-level stuff for the master’s phase.
Besides, why would you want two accelerated programs anyway?
I think a BS/MBA program would be pretty useless…the most marketable MBAs are generally those who have got a few years of experience before their MBA, and these accelerated programs tend to be at lower-tier business schools anyway. (One major except is Cornell’s program.)
You have a lot of different interests. One of the primary roles of college and early adulthood is to start to narrow down your career goals and choose what you want to do. That doesn’t mean that you have to completely forget about your interests in other areas - you can take classes in them, participate in extracurricular activities, maybe minor or double major if it makes sense. But you can’t study all of those things in depth - depth takes time and effort, which is why most students select only one or maybe two things to study in-depth.
