What should i major in when i go pre-med to be a physicians assistant?
Pre med is an intention and not any particular major.
For PA school, you can major in anything so long as you complete the pre-reqs.
Pre-reqs vary somewhat from program to program, so it’s useful to have some idea of what program or what general area of the country you want to go to school in. Generally, you’ll need biology, gen chem, microbiology, anatomy & physiology (all with labs), statistics and an English composition class. Some programs require ochem, psychology, physics, medical terminology, cell biology or other coursework beside what’s listed in the sentence above.
Here’s a database with a listing of PA programs, including the required pre-reqs, the amount of hands on patient care experience required, and minimum GPA.
