Majoring for Pre-Med

Hi there! I'm currently going to be starting college as a freshman in Fall 2014. I wish to become a doctor and go for medical school. Right now, I am having trouble in deciding what major to go for while doing pre-med. At first, I chose biological sciences, but people told me that it's really tough and can lower your GPA. So now, I'm debating about whether to major in Economics or Psychology. I want a good major just in case if medical school doesn't work out, then I can have a useful degree in having a job. I just want to ask what major would be good for pre-med or if I can do pharmacy if med school doesn't work? Thanks Guys!

Choose the major you’re most interested in. It doesn’t matter what major you choose. Though most premeds do bio majors simply because most people who go into medicine are interested in the biomedical sciences. Otherwise, do what you like! Medical schools don’t care what you major in so long as you complete the prereq classes.
