Majoring in MCB and minoring in CS? Possible?

This is something I am looking into. Is this possible/doable? If it is, what would be a possible timeline for me?

I don't have any programming experience, so keep that in mind. I have already taken chem1a and math1a and finishing chem3a/3al and math1b this semester for the major prereqs. Taking chem3b/3bl next sem and bio1b in the summer.

I know the classes for the CS minor ar cs61a, 61b, 61c, and math 55 or cs70 (out of htese two, which one do you recommend?). But since i don't know any programming, are there any introductory classes i should take this summer to familiarize myself?

also, for phase 1, i have 9 units. I'd like to add 1-1.5 unit class. Does anyone know any good ones that can be taken for a letter grade? thanks.

Ok, i did some research, and it says cs10 and cs3s are good intro courses. i can’t take cs10 since it conflicts…so i guess cs3s is a good option. should i do this class for 1.5 units? is this class easy?

Why would it not be possible to minor in CS? It is only seven courses (eight if you take CS 3 or CS 10 before taking CS 61A).

i meant in terms of difficulty, since the mcb requiree\ments are also tedious. also, i can take cs3s for 1.5 units right?

ok, i’m going to do cs3s…how is this class like? do people fall behind since it is self paced? i’ll start off at 1 unit, and then maybe increase it if i do better in it.

Yes, it’s possible… just remember to find some balance, so you’re not taking all science/CS courses each semester, since that would drive you pretty crazy… mix in some psych/lit courses?
