How hard would it be to double major in Econ and Public Policy? I understand that a lot the classes overlap, but would I need to take extra classes to finish both on time (more than four a semester). Also, how would this show up on my diploma, if I get a BS in Econ and a BA in PPS?

Thanks, any advice or info would be really appreciated!

You can definately do that. A lot of people do. I'm not sure how it'll show up and whether or not you'll have to ever take five courses (depends on a lot of factors), however I'd say most people will take at least one semester of five credits sometime during their Duke career.

I personally would not recommend doing 5 classes in a semester if possible - I find there to be a lot of work as it is with 4 classes and a 5th would be overwhelming for me, maybe it's different for others.

For a double major I don't think you would necessarily need to overload as long as you take care of your requirements early, otherwise you might need to overload if you still have to satisify two major and many curriculum requirements in your last year or two.
