Majors/Careers for Introverts?

Hi,
I was just wondering which majors/careers are more introverted and less extroverted? I know there has to be some communication, but which have mostly independent work. I don't mind conversation as long as its not "in person". For some reason I had my face "freeze up" once. And ever since then (6 months ago) I can no longer have a normal conversation with people anymore....

Ice frozen or nervous system frozen?

If you're socially inept, you will fit right in just finee around here.

nervous system frozen, my face forces a frown, it happens mostly when I'm laughing. I just remember about it, then it happens....

Unfortunately, you will never work alone in the real world. You don't have to be outgoing, but as long as you don't make others feel socially awkward around you, you will be fine.

You'll always end up dealing with people. At my school, however, people tend to view the CS kids as being the most introverted. EE and CprE have quite a few introverts, but I think it's a healthier mix and might help you overcome some of your introversion. (Speaking as a fellow introvert) Math and Physics too...

Narrowing down your choices due to introversion though doesn't seem like the best thing you can do, though. In college you'll end up dealing with a lot of people, regardless, so it's best to just do the thing where your interests lies, IMO.

Honestly EVERY SCIENCE is full of introverts. Any more than a few strategically-timed nights out and they're doomed to failure.

Being an introvert doesn't mean that you have no social skills or ability to communicate with people.

I work pretty independently most of the time, but I'm still part of a team and have to have a face-to-face conversation with my boss and my other teammate about the project's status at least once a week.

learn to socialize. your going to need it.

I think all engineering jobs require team work of some degree. You gotta work with people. Even in hardcore sciences / research, you still need to work with people. You can't be alone. You don't have to talk too much, but just be nice and work well with people.

When you talk to people, just relax, enjoy yourself, and have fun.
