I’m thinking about going into fields regarding math/econ/finance/stats. I don’t really know which one I should major in so should I apply undecided in the sciences school or apply to one of these majors? Is there a disadvantage on the admissions standpoint if I apply undecided?
FAQ for UCB:
Does applying Undeclared improve or detract from an applicant’s chances of admission?
For applicants to majors in the colleges of Letters and Sciences, Natural Resources, Chemistry and Environmental Design, major is not considered and students are not disadvantaged by applying Undeclared. For applicants to Engineering, major choice is considered in selection; Engineering Undeclared is highly selective.
