According to the Fordham website and their information, the "International Studies" major is only available at the Lincoln Center campus, while the "German Language & Linguistics" major is offered at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center. The problem is that I would like to double major in International Studies and German while living on/at the Rose Hill Campus.

I have been trying to find a phone number or email address at Fordham of someone who could answer this question but no luck yet.

SO. Is it feasible to have a double major, one-half of which is only offered at Lincoln Center, while living at Rose Hill? (I could use the RamVan for transportation).

i don’t know this for certain, but it would seem to me that if you make the german major your primary major, there should be no reason why you can’t make international studies your second major and then just take all your classes at lincoln center since you can take major classes at the other campus anyway.

you’re gonna have to double check with that though.

Many Rose Hill students wishing to major in international studies opt for the international political economy major instead. Not sure if that interests you.

^^^^ agree. Pick a campus that best suits your personality and interests. IPE is a wonderful program and degree. I’m a Rose Hill person, because I like a traditional college with sports facilities and dorms and open green spaces and trees etc. That is me. If you are an LC person, fine. Go there and be well.

Consideration: Do NOT consider “going to the other campus to take a class.” A twenty minute ride sounds easy and doable, but you really won’t want to do that. I have to heavily consider walking to Starbucks. I live on 60th. Starbucks is on 59th. It isn’t that I am lazy, it is just: do I want to put that extra effort in?

(I’d end up skipping all of my RH classes.)

haha so many people take classes at both campuses. There’s internet access on the ram vans, so you can do most types of homework on the ride. It’s anywhere between 25-45 minutes depending on traffic.

I’d just stay away from taking a class that meets 3 times a week at the opposite campus. Or from taking more than 2 classes that meet once a week.
