Im really unsure about what major i should do. I started as a petroleum engineer but recently i feel as though my passion isnt into the major but i am almost approaching the important classes of the major such as calc 2 and physics 1…i don’t know what else to major in here so i would like to know any other majors this school has and how tough are they?
OU is a large multifaceted university with programs in everything from Native American studies to GIS. A large number of students change their majors during their time at OU and because of this the University College has a division devoted to [exploring majors](http://www.ou.edu/univcoll/majors). If you’re interested in seeing just what majors the University offers, you can find a list [here.](http://catalog.ou.edu/current/mjrs+minors.htm) To see the degree check sheet for any program you may be interested in, [click here.](Checksheets) If you’re not satisfied with any of those options, consider our build your own major option, known as [Multi-Disciplinary Studies.](http://www.ou.edu/go2/academics/arts_sciences/multi_studies.html)
Program difficulty varies by student and class. It’s hard to compare a major in dramaturgy with that of petroleum engineering simply because the skills needed are so different.
@whenhen thanks for responding it helped alot! i am going to do petroleum geology and in the fall im taking calc 2 and physics 1,any insight on how brutal these classes are?
@DxrthNguyen It depends. How did you do in Calc 1? Physics 1 isn’t too terrible if you’ve done well enough if math. It’s not easy for most, but you should be able to do it.
@WoolScarves im currently in it right now and have a B but kind of having a hard time understanding the derivatives which kind of worries me about the two courses i will embark on in fall
