If I already know that I want to attend law school after completing undergrad, which majors are the best to consider heading into college?

Whatever you are interested in. Just do well in it, and get good LSAT scores.

Well for the sole purpose of maximizing your chances, easy majors. But don’t put all your egg in one basket. Sometimes life doesn’t quite work out the way we expect it to.

I would advise doing something you are interested in and wouldn’t find having a career in. Who knows, you might get distracted in college and not get into law school. And if you take a very easy major, then you probably risk the chance of not having many job opportunities after college.

Listen to the penguin.

An old friend of mine picked Psych expressly as prep for law school (don’t ask me why), but then got to law school and hated it so much he dropped out in his second year. He does not now nor ever had a desire to work in Psychology, so his undergrad degree is useless and his grad degree incomplete.

Pick something challenging and interesting, something that provides prep for law school but that you could also be happy with on its own. That way, if you change your mind during or after school you have something worthwhile to build on. A lot of people do.

Thank you so much for all of the input. I hadn’t really done any research yet, and I didn’t know if there was anything I should specifically be focusing on. It’s nice to know that I can still challenge myself while following my interests, and not be required to follow a specific major in order to pursue law.
