is it tough? esp. transferring in january as i plan on doing? any real experiences here? ive heard both positive and negative experiences from people i know personally. i know for a fact that i am not the most outgoing person in the world; im not mean its just that im not SUPPPPER friendly right off the bat, which kind of stinks.

well if you live on campus and are surrounded by people, then you're probably bound to make friends. I too am a bit shy at first so I'm making sure I live on campus - that may be helpful for you too.

It depends on the school. For Georgetown, it is pretty hard not to make friends. I have a friend who had trouble adjusting during the first two months, but now she has an enormous social network. It just happens.

well, I know at Harvard, they have a program called Transfer Links and old transfers help new transfers get acquainted with Boston, the people, and the professors.
