How long did it take you to find friends that you really connected with? It's only my second day here, and right now it's New Student Orientation for a couple more days. I've made several friends, and they're all really nice, but I don't really see them developing into deep friendships. I also go to a super tiny school (about 300 undergrad students, and about 600 students altogether in undergrad/grad/online/adult evening classes). Any advice for freshmen trying to make new friends?

You’ve been there for less then 48 hours. No **** you won’t seen your friendships turning to meaningful relationships yet. And it’s pretty self explanatory how to make new friends. Join a club. Ask to be in study groups. Go to the events on campus. Bond with your classmates in your hardest classes while talking how much the class/teacher sucks. The end. You made friends.

Thanks for your advice I do realize this question makes it seem a bit overly dramatic. I’m honestly not desperate or having a panic attack or anything. Mostly I just want to know how long it took other people to really find their close friends at college.

Two years. Results may vary considerably.
