Making my senior year schedule

I'm going to make my schedule next year such that I can satisfy as many non-science or math requirements as possible like social sciences and all that bs. I'm probably going for a math/science/engineering/business route.

Here's my high school career:

Freshman

9th Grade English (req)
Health (req), Analyzing the modern world (req)
technical graphics (career ed req), engineering drafting/design (career ed req)
algebra 3-4
biology
spanish 3-4

Sophomore

H 10th grade english (req)
world history (req)
photo 1-2 (fine arts req)
H pre-calc
chemistry
spanish 5-6

Junior (this year)

H American Studies English (req)
H American studies history (req)
AP computer science A
AP Calc AB (not enough students for BC)
AP physics B
Advanced spanish

Senior year requirements:
2 semesters of english
1 semester of global citizenship

Stupid state grad. requirement global cit forces me to take a 1 semester class

The classes I'm considering are:
AP Enlish Lit (english req)
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
AP Statistics
AP Calculus BC
AP US Gov.
AP Euro.
AP Spanish language

I want to maximize the amount of non-science/math that I WONT have to do in college.
-AP Bio is iffy
-AP Chem sounds interesting and I'll probably do it.
-What do you suggest about AP Stat?
-I think I've rounded up enough people to do Calc BC with me this year, and it would either be an entire year of calc again, or just a second semester class (which would fill in the gap Global Cit made). If Calc isn't 1 semester, I might have to do 1 semester of Advanced Spanish (different class than junior year).
-AP Gov would get me out of some college requirements, so I'll probably do it.
-AP Euro: probably not, teacher's a great guy, heard he's not the best teacher. Would it be worth it so I could satisfy some college requirement? Might not fit with other stuff I want to do though
-AP spanish: this is 0 period, which would suck, and there's very close to 0% chance of me doing it

In what case would I need to satisfy some foreign language requirement in college? I did spanish 1-2 in middle school over 2 years, so up until now I've done 4 years of spanish, and 5 actual years.

I would much rather do the non-science/math stuff in high school if I have to do them in college.

If you got through this very long post, thank you very much!

bump
10char

This is the worst possible thing to do. I planned everything out when I was a freshman and didnt end up following the outline at all. Just go with the flow and when you get to the next year then worry about your courses. (Im assuming that ur in 9th grade)

^i think u need to get ur eyes checked…

I would probably do something along the lines of:

AP Lit
AP Chem
AP Calc BC (if possible)
Global citizenship/Advanced Spanish
AP Gov

As for your last class: I wouldn’t bother with Euro. If the Calc doesn’t work out, just go with stat. I’m in stat right now and the material is fairly easy (my teachers tests are a different story, but that’s just my teacher). I find it fairly interesting. If you think you can do well in AP Spanish, it would be nice to just get it out of the way. If you do zero period Spanish can you leave a period early at the end of the day?

Thanks for responding. The reason I wouldn’t do 0 period ap spanish is because I would lose an hour of sleep every school day morning.

This all really hinges on whether I end up doing Calc BC full year, or one semester, or a one semester independent study. My Calc teacher says to just do the BC full year class because he doesnt want to do a second semester because I’d have to catch up (there are other kids in the same boat as me here). I could just do a 1 semester independent study with everyone else who’s doing it.

So for the AP euro vs AP stat. Stat would be more interesting, the euro teacher is an awesome guy, not too sure how well I’d do on the AP test. So it wouldn’t be worth taking euro for the credit? This really depends on the college I guess, not worth taking euro if I can only waive so many credits.

Oh, and I’m a Junior this year in case that wasn’t clear.

For the AP Spanish thing: but if you leave an hour earlier then theoretically you could go to bed an hour earlier, if that makes sense. It would be so nice to get te language credit out of the way before college.

I think a full year of Calc makes sense.

Euro is really tough at my school, not sure how it is at yours. I would go with AP Stat because it’s easier, you already have a lot of difficult classes, and you are going to have apps/senioritis to deal with. I still think Spanish makes more sense than Stat/Euro credit wise though.

I have trouble getting to bed at a good hour already. In what case will I need to satisfy a language credit in college, and could I test out of it?

I think it’s a Gen Ed at most places. I’m not sure about testing out. But if zero period really won’t work, don’t worry about it. I know that you can sometimes use a subject test to test out. Just do Euro or Stat instead. I don’t think it matters which one you pick-- just do whichever you think will be more enjoyable/manageable
