Ok the manual transmission is sooo much better than the automatic. It's just a known fact.

Then why’d you put it to CC?

I drive a manual also! I feel sweet when I’m with people and I shift gears, and they drive automatic so they’re like “$#!^ how do you do that?” bahaha

Manual tranny is definitely seen as more masculine and badass. My car, well my parents car, is an auto but I do know how to drive stick. Some of the newer automatics are getting pretty close to the feel of a manual though.

Not if you live in a major city with lots of traffic.

Yeah, it really depends on your vehicle and where you live. You don’t want to drive a manual BMW X5 in NYC. The X5 used to be offered with a manual, perhaps there is some maunal offered in the M-X5 nowadays. If you have a small sport sedan/coupe, manuals are amazing! And lots of people in my class have no clue how to drive a manual, much less check oil level lol. New automatics, or the dual-clutch “automated” manuals have actually eclipsed the traditional manual. Porsche 911s are slower with the stick.

I trained on manual… I once stalled my engine on a stoplight while learning… not the best experience.

But I much, much prefer automatic for the convenience.

I never went on the open road while learning manual, save myself from the embarrassment of stalling lol.

Manual all the way. Better gas mileage on older cars and easier to fix because of less moving parts. The only downside is when I’m stuck in LA traffic, but it isn’t that bad if I just leave it in first and keep moving

Auto 10char

Erm how is something that makes your life harder supposed to be cool?

It’s FUN! That’s why.

its not hard at all once you get the hang of it. it becomes very natural actually. probably took me 2 weeks to have confidence on the roads and know what i was doing and within a month or two it became natural. my one year anniversary is coming up and it amazes me how i don’t need to think about shifting i just do it. its a great life tool to have for the unexpected. also alot of fun to drive. only downside is driving in cities and traffic. i love manuals

stick for sure… I live right in LA too. It’s sad that most americans don’t even know what a clutch is. although tbh some cars should just stick with auto because they are boring as hell. The point of manual cars (for me) is to control the torque and if the car ain’t got none it’s just like… annnoying

^how is that sad? if u don’t have to, why bother learning it?

my aunt was like ‘i WILL teach u how to drive a manual’. cough um. why are manual drivers SO hostile towards the rest of us aka automatic drivers?

oh, yeah. it’s because their driving life sucks, that’s why.

^ because they are missing out. America is the only country where automatics are more popular than manuals.

canada too

My friend drives stick and I think it’s so cool. haha

Lol, I find it annoying just watching someone use manual transmission, me using it doesn’t seem good either haha.

“because they are missing out.”

according to whom? you? lol. just because, according to my aunt ‘it gives my right hand some thing to do while driving!’ doesn’t mean it’s something that i want to learn how to do. thanks, but no thanks.
