March 10th Essay

Did everyone have the same subject, something about not fitting in and being individual?
How did you think you did? What examples did you use?
I used civil rights movement and animal farm.

i used Fahrenheit 451 and Galileo

I wrote about George Washington, MLK, and my life. Used every line.

i used 1984, anthem, and the college search process. obviously i qualified the statement

I got the same...

I think I did very well...

I used Edna Pontellier (The Awakening) and Einstein.

women's rights movement, the lord of the rings, my school

haha lord of the rings nice

I used Transcendentalist writers (Emerson and Thoreau) and Booker T. Washington and W.E.B Du Bois.

Eh, I misspelled Emerson as Emmerson and messed up the quote "imitation is suicide," I put "conformity is suicide."
How much will those mistakes cost me?

not much.....scoreres are more interested in your ideas

Duper - I can't see them caring at all.

FDR, Anne Hutchinson, and Du Bios

not at all, i think. I heard that you could basically make up historical facts and it wouldn't affect your grade(although i don't think you would want to).

gailieo/copernicus, martinluther/reformation and muckrakers at the begining of the 20th century. i almost included riis as an example of the last one, which would have been ironic because there was a cr section about him later.

Transcendentalism and MLK Jr. (Should have used Brave New World)

Umm I used a history and literature example..but I also used a biology one, b/c I was blanking out..do u guys think it's bad that I talked about evolution? idk, is it off topic?

Catcher in the Rye, Einstein, MLK, personal

interpreter of maladies, ceremony, reservation blues

I had a different essay question: about high vs. low expectations. Did anyone else have this? I thought that everyone would have the same essay...

^^ i got that!
i used personal experiences, american revolution and the cold war

i had different/ fit in
i wrote about civil rights movement (MLK, rosa parks)
and the womens rights movement (susan B anthony, elizabeth cady stanton)
i guess its the AP US History kicking in lol

also, we just studied Jacob Riis and it was on the reading section
thought that was interesting
