March 12 - Official SAT - General Discussion IS open

unluckycharms: it does have to do with the passage--it said they remembered their own kindnesses, but distorted hers. So they were being more generous towards themselves.

**** i put 16 i thought i messed that UP

pentasa: potentate (powerful person).

and i put whichever one said relocated (since the question said "apparently", so it wasn't explicit)

"The mona lisa, being transported in a separate cart and accepted by dignitaries was treatead as a ___________, rather than a painting."

potentate

and for the 1600 question, x came out to be either 0 or 1600 (by factoring), but it can't be 0. so the answer is 1600.

The mona lisa question: the answer was potentate. Mona Lisa was treated as an important official rather than a piece of art.

the question, dan, simplified to rad(x) = x / 40

It's been said at least 4 times in this thread, but there are 3 experimental sections.

1) Critical Reading: Translation passages
2) Writing: Error on the last question of the section.
3) Math: Question with an answer of Rad(2) / 2.. choices had "approx." on them

I'm pretty sure the Mona Lisa one was "potentate"

potentate, mona lisa question, cuz she was being treated like a king.

Don't worry willmingtonwave I put religion in mine too, and I don't think I was imposing.
I put... the Revolutionary war (how the rebels only made up a minority)
I put... The Raisin In the Sun (how "Mama" wanted to move into Clybourne Park, a white nieghborhood)
I put... persecutions because I'm a Christian.
euh... so back to writing section experimentals...
since I had like two 34-question writing sections, I wanna know which one.
I had my first section as a section 3 writing section... well that's probly not gonna help.
Anyways, if you guys who only had ONE section can tell me some of your problems: ANY TO HELP ME REMEMBER, then thank you thank you lol.

... Ugh. The more I read this, the worse I feel that I did. Anyone else with me? Or does everyone really feel that he did well?

I was hoping for a nearly perfect score, but I'm thinking that it'll be ... worse. Ugh. Especially since it sounds that the curve will be bad.

Did you guys get the

recycling passages?

duke ellington metaphor one?

gender and words passage?

Was the math one with the last question "If I study for the test, then I will get a good grade" the experimental one?

Oh and i put "If I don't study for the test, then i won't get a good grade" for that one.

i did badly on the old woman passage.. like 3 wrong

hells yeahh!!! i totally guessed on the "potentate" and the "chicanery" and got em both right

i think that was experimental b/c i didn't have it

I had two writing sections as well. Something distinct I remembered from the second writing section, which turns out to be the experiemtal, is question 35. The question asked which is the best revision of the underlined section of the sentence, but 4 out of the 5 answer choices indicated changes to the non-underlined part of the sentence.
If you didn't get that section, then perhaps we had two different writing experimentals.

it wasnt on my test therefore it was experimental!

Pentasa, I got those both wrong. Haha. Ugh.

tufnut2crack, I didn't have that question. Frenetic, I had those three readings.

yo i got that oddball writting question i was freakin out

"and that the statement at the beginning shows that she is not ready to move to this new place, or something along those lines"

to you guys agree? i narrowed it now to two choices (the one above being one of them), i do not recall what the other choice was.... but anyways, was this correct?
