March 12 - Official SAT - General Discussion IS open

no I think the old woman passage about her moving to a new house and social status wasn't experimental cuz I only had like 3 CR sections... I think it's the translation one that's experimental cuz I don't think I had it.

actually the passage about the old woman was NOT an experimental

wat was the last answer, she felt diminished in her home?

TRAVOLOGUE OF A SLAVE FOR WRITING SECTION
does anyone have that who did not have 2 large writing sectiosn?

I need help, can people post any verbal critical reading questions? I am trying to remember, but I nothing comes to mind exactly. It would be soooo helpful if anyone could post the questions that they know.

I know I had the experimental reading, since I had 4 CR rections. Can someone refresh me on what this "translation" passage was about?

Can anyone post up the free-responses for MAth?

the_wanderer, i don't remember that question and i didn't have 2 large writing sections.

Translations were with the two passages - one argued that literary translations were best (w/ the translation of Homer's poems)

the other argued that translations that preserved the mood such as "the seafarer" were best

thanks for answer the "surprise" question! i have a question in the improving paragraph section- the last question about what technique the author was using. one of the chocies was "exaggeration". another answer choice was "using words she use previously". the wording of the choices is wayy off but it was something along those lines

"Translations were with the two passages - one argued that literary translations were best (w/ the translation of Homer's poems)

weird, i had 4 CR sections, but i didn't have this section.

hmmn... dunno... let's see... questions I remember:

What did "death" mean (in the passage for the cultural/art/museum/architecture/preservation thing). I put... neglect for that one...
um... besides the one previously said...

the old woman was described as an "intimidated child" because I think she was being undermined.
Let's see...

the old woman saw the statements ("they're nice folks...good kiddies") as having criticism methinks...
hmmn...
plus the one with chicanery and potentate (yeah, lol kinda guessed on those too)

The bar from the demolished museum I put as
resculed and relocated
...

i chose she repeats words and sentence structure

lalaa i got using words used previously

Quick questions:

Writing:
1. How many E's in the sentence IDs did you guys get (on the section that counted).
A) did anybody catch in error in that sentence where she compares her books with someone else (I think the error was a faulty comparison between books and characters)
2. Sentence-improvement:
A) one question I was deciding between SOMETHING, everyone... and SOMETHING, for everyone (i think number 10)
B) one question I was deciding between "rapid advancement" OR "the rapidity with which BLAH BLAH BLAH" (i think number 13)

CR:
The last question about the short passage on the Incas (was it the temple answer)?

billyum
thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou
thank you,
lol. Yeah... I think I did pretty badly on that one

yep, repeating words and sentence structure.

so was the experimental section, second writing section, for those who had 2 huge writing sections??

for the rapidity one, I put the long one, cuz I managed to cross the others off due to errors that I seemed to have found lol.

i think i did that too... but was the father speaker thing experimental?

kimjm... i sure hope so, i did so bad on that
