March 12 - Official SAT - General Discussion IS open

i screwed up the sentence completion, got at least 1/3 of them wrong, reading and writing were easy. 780+ for math

anyone with the critical reading passage about a giant squid? i think it was my experimental

anyq know the writting or verbal expected curves

prolly got five on essay cuz a lot of ppl wrote about the same thing as i did - agree, racial discrimination, scientists

CR was definetly harder. math and writing was much much easier (for writing i did review all the rules the night before). SC were on par or a little more difficult.

the one about how long the telephone convo is. cause i thought you set it up 555 = x + y(minutes) but since the x cents takes up one minute its 555 = x + y(minutes - 1)

sheizahhhhhhh.........

any1 know the writting or verbal expected curves

The one with the graphs? The answer was the one that went through the origin.

omg, the SAT was easy! I was surprised when I read the essay prompt at how easy it was just to crank out a pursuasive. It was a really write-able topic. The only thing I didn't like was math. But what else is new? haha

i got 6pi for the yingyang one

yea it was thro the origin

people who value themselves based on their scores on the SATs are sad. very sad.

i expect to be similar to that of the official practice book

No, that section was not experimental. I don't know what number the experimental section is, but it is the one with these questions, as I've seen them described on CC:

"x(square)y= x^2+xy+y^2"

"of 50 teachers 24 teachers read inquirer, 21 read another magazine, and 12 dont read any"

I think I got 12pi for yinyang one:
[(3)(2)(pi)(1/2)]2 + [(6)(2)(pi)(1/2)] = 12pi
^ the 2 smaller circles ^ big circle

Anyone still remember the non-experimental parts of CR?

Eh, us West Coasters got that creativity was needed in the world for the essay topic. Majority rules sounds like an easier topic to me. That's okay though--I filled up all the space and had to cramp my last sentence into small font on the last line.

alebed- please look in the official discussion thread regarding your grid in section. you kept asking ppl if you were right, and I posted the correct ones..

For anyone that used the Princeton Review book with the 11 practice tests to study - How was the difficulty of the SAT today in relation to it? Harder? Easier? Which sections? Anything that PR missed that was on the test?

Didn't it also have two cubes, one that was 1x1x1, and another that broken up into halves each (1/2)x(1/2)x(1/2)? I had this on a section and none of my friends did.

Someone please help with this it is driving me nuts:

Deus.ex.machina- I am confused about social class thing, how'd you get that

what's the subtext of her friend's comment that there's no servants to clean (comment on change in social class)----> I put something else

what does mrs. d's daughter (angel?) mean when she says that having mrs, d do housework may give offense? (housework not suited for lady of her social class)-----> I put something else

what caused mrs. d's reaction to the comment about the new ppl that moved into the grocery store (was it a veiled insult? i'm not sure about this one)----> I put misrepresentation of the mean and evil people who burned old sign

What did you guys put for the one question that asked why the guy in the passage about restoration of cultural centers described how the masterpieces were torn down in one of the paragraphs? Did you say that he did this for lighthearted humor or to disparage the practice?
