March 12 - Official SAT - General Discussion IS open

I put the same as dualityim in the "new cultural..." it was really the only one that fit in the context, as it went on to talk about how it goes to serve the commercial leaders or something like that.

Does anyone remember the answer to the Cinco De Mayo SC?

For the creativity essay, I talked about how growing competition has prevented most people from being as creative as they can be, and they instead look for the easiest or quickest way to success -- being creative is too much of a risk.

I used my own experience in school (most kids only doing the minimum required to get an "A" because it is so competative) and then how a lack of creativity is even true for many artists and scientists, who are generally associated with being creative.

That was an unusual SAT essay prompt, though...

was the cinco de mayo answer lavish..... something?

fallenstar -- Yes, I think it was.

Did anyone else have a short reading passage about Machu Picchu? Was this experimental?

Is there any hope at all that one math grid-in wrong will be an 800?

ctgirl -- I had that passage, but I don't know whether it was experimental. I don't know about the math, because I messed up badly on that whole section and made myself forget all about it.

for the renovating old culture centers passage - does anyone remember what they put for the microphone question?

Did anyone else have a short reading passage about Machu Picchu? Was this experimental?

Yes, taht section was experimental indeed.

which section was the machu pichu? There was a verbal that i only answered 20 out of 25 im hoping that was the experimental...

Machu Pichu was not experimental.

The answer to the question with the microphone was that modern actors rely too heavily on technology that they cannot appreciate such a perfectly build opera house.

yeah, it was definitely not the one about sound quality right?

i had the section on macchu pichu so that couldn't have been experiemtal because i had a math experimental...

machu pichu?? i don't know if i had it.. maybe i just don't remember..

i dont really remember it either, besides they say you dont really have to read the whole thing and i didnt so yeah thats prob why.

For math....does anybody remember what they got for the stamp collectors arithmetic mean question? Was it 85 or 87?

One of my friends claims that he read the question as you had to subtract 20 (75 instead of 55) and then add 10 (70 instead of 80)...is he right or is it 85?

you add 75 and 55 then divide by two...do the same for the other thing then subtract the two and the difference from them you then subtract from the overall average?

You don't have to do it that way...you are either subtracting 30 or subtracting 20 and adding 10. Then you divide it by 10.

85 im possitive

Does anybody remember the exact question for that 85 one?
