March 14 Interviews

For those of you interviewing for scholarships tomorrow-- what are you wearing!?!

I know it should be nice, but this is a day-long event with tours and things, so I'm not sure.

any ideas? (i'm a girl)

i think black slacks, a collared shirt, and black boots...heels on the boots, but pretty comfortable nonetheless

see you there tomorrow =)

How did the interviews go? how many students were there and what were the stats of those being interviewed? Thanks!

There were 100 that day, but 300 being interviewed total. 2/3 of the people actually get the scholarship. Not sure about the stats, but the other kids there seemed pretty impressive. Lots of Howard County people. I'm guessing we all applied to the same sorts of schools- Yale, Georgetown, Stanford...the big names. I think this scholarship generally gets offered to people with stats high enough that they would only go to UMCP because it's the cheapest choice. Among the current UMCP students who were there, almost all of them said they chose UMCP for the money (not that it means UMCP is a bad school!). The best info I can give you for stats is I'm taking 3 AP's this year (I got elective'd out of my 4th) and I met someone who is taking 5 this year. Probably most people there had above a 1400 on the old SAT and 3.9 or more for their GPA, as well as an impressive resume filled with awards and leadership positions.
