March 2010 SAT Results

First time.

CR: 730
M: 740
W: 680 (71 MC, 8 essay) - ouch
C: 2150
Goal:2200+

Reaction: Meh, I’ll just use my ACT scores. This should hopefully qualify for National Merit Finalist in Michigan, which was why I took the test anyways. I could have studied a lot more for this though. And, I’m a junior, so a fall retake might be kind of late (June subject tests, conflict with May test date). But, I’m tempted by this whole superscoring thing, so I don’t know.

Second time.

CR: 640 (I got a 590 in November so I’m happy)
M: 800 (I’m extremely happy, cause math is my strong point but I always make a stupid mistake or two)
W: 710 (71/9. Disappointed because I thought I wrote a pretty solid essay. Plus it’s annoying cause one person though it was a 5 and another thought it was a 4)

So should I retake for a third time? I wanted a 2200 and 2150 isn’t that off, but I think I can do better. I’m pretty sure most of the points I lost in CR were for vocab and I only read about a third of DH since I got extremely bogged down with some of my classes the week of SATs. If I take it a third time, I’d (ideally) memorize all of DH over the summer and do some more practice CR & W sections. Is it reworth it to take to get up to that 2200+?

wow, it seems like everybody scored lower in reading than expected.

SAME exact problem I have
This score truly messed everything up

W: 760 (75/10e)
M: 770
CR: 720

Composite: 2250
Superscored: 2270 (790 Math)
Goal: 2300+

Blahhh I thought I got a 12 on the essay for sure. I mean I’m happy with my score but I also really want that 2300. Should I retake it in October? I think I will.

January:
M: 680
CR: 540
W: 560
TOTAL: 1770
MARCH:
M: 700
CR: 620
W: 580
TOTAL: 1900
Improved by +120 Pts.

Yeah, reading really screwed me over for some reason.

congrats nitap!

Stupid writing screwed me over. Got a 9 essay.

Expected: 2400
Actual: 800M, 800CR, 760W
Retake: probably

Second time:

Composite: 2330

CR: 780
Math: 770
Writing: 780

Anyone know what the curve for reading was? I got -2, so I thought I had gotten an 800.

reading- 600
writing- 800 with a 12 essay
math- 770

ithought i got everything correct for math…wonder what i got wrong…
as for reading…i have no idea i expected a 700 or higher…
im retaking for sure because reading totally screwd it up

missprincess: Can I have your writing? I’ll give you my CR. :)

^
Omg I’d take ur CR so willingly
M: 800
W: 800 80/10
CR: 600
I think I take the crown for most lopsided scores ever…

Congratz

Critical Reading- 780
Math- 800
Writing- 700

Not too bad. I could’ve done much better on writing. 68 MC… -_-

But my superscore is 2330, which isn’t too bad, I guess. I’m thinking about retaking just for the writing.

What ivy league colleges superscore? And what about UChicago, Stanford, UVA, MIT, and CalTech?

Thanks,
Leon

Cr: Abysmal
Math: 700
Writing: 700

Funny thing is, Math and Writing are EXACTLY 700, couldn’t they be a little higher? lol

Retaking in May to bring CR to 700+ and Math to hopefully an 800.

this was my first SAT too, but I’m kinda disappointed with my cr and wr score. I knew I messed up critical reading really badly :/

CR 730
M 800
WR 760 75/10essay (the essay is a disappointment too. I thought I had gotten at least an 11)

total-2290

I’m probably going to retake it in october. does anyone know if superscore still exists? like is the class of '11 allowed to report only the highest single portions of the SAT as opposed to reporting all scores / reporting single highest test?

CR: 800
Math: 740 (but I have a 770 from January)
Writing: 800 (Essay 11)
Overall pretty happy
best score for one sitting: 2240 => 2340
Superscore: 2320 => 2370
Best Essay Score: 9 => 11
So I’ll try not to be too mad about math. Third and last time taking SAT.

CR: 700
Math: 680
Writing: 730

Not really sure what happened with Math but it was my first time taking it AND I didn’t prepare at all so overall I’m pretty happy. I’ll take it again in May and take some practice tests in the meantime.

So I’ve searched high and low but I still can’t figure out where my essay score is?

First time taking it, didn’t study. My combined score was the exact same thing as my PSAT composite, but my categories were much different. My PSATs also had a 76 on math, and I was pretty disappointed with my SAT math, which I expected to be much better than 670.

CR: 780
Math: 670
Writing: 670

Can’t figure out how to see the essay anywhere though…

First time taking

CR: 720
Math: 800
Writing: 650 (Essay 7)

Total: 1520/2170

Wow I dont think anyone did as bad as me on the essay
but anyway idk if I should retake. Do colleges really not look at the writing score?
