***March 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

@Lanie49 What was your raw score in CR?

@amregysat‌ 3 wrong are definitely above 700. (I think)

@Marstatic‌ BTW 2 of them were in the MC and one of them was in the grid-in does that count as omitted ?

Oh well then that brings your raw score to 51, which is much better.

Hey guys, I know my equating section was a writing one, but can someone please tell me which? For the text at the end, in one of the sections it was about the rivalry between the US and the Soviet Union when they went to space, while in the other it was about a boy who played the clarinet for an audition. Does anyone know which one was the “real” one?

Rivalry between US and Soviet Union, can someone tell me all their reading passages?

Reading passages I remember:

One about an artist/photographer who staged her photographs because she understands people’s emotions better than they do.

One about a delusional scientist who made wild claims about how the sense of smell works accompanied by a second passage calling him out on his nonsense.

One about some guy whose mother thought a magic stone could turn soup into water.

One about how plastic made people think flame decals on cars looked good.

Edit: There was two passages about acupuncture.

The infamous Prince passage.

^Those are the ones I remember. It’s possible I missed a few, but I’ll probably remember them if someone mentions them.

I also saw the extremely biased summary of the space race but I think that was sentence/passage improvement. There was also a passage about how the Italian language was aesthetically worthless until Dante Alighieri single-handedly rescued it but that too was writing, not critical reading.

For those of you in US who already received your scores, what was the answer for the question in the smell passage that asked what passage 2 would be most critical about?

I don’t think that anybody remembers what you’re talking about, including me.

Just use the search button on this thread. If you go to the magnifying thing that is right next to the arrow and page numbers of this thread, then you can search what you want to on this thread.

@Hawkace What was your CR score? And what was the raw score equivalent to that?

@Hawkace Of course, I forgot that you all took it in march XD I already flipped through all 86 pages… That question seemed to be one of the questions that no one reached a consensus on.

11 wrong on CR = 640
3 wrong on M = 750
6 wrong on W + 10 essay = 680

@hyps2018 Do you remember the choices?

@Hawkace It was in the passage about Luca Turin and her theory on smell, if you still remember. I think the answer was between the two:: “Others smelled like anise” and “Some receptors would buzz” or something like that.

@hyps2018‌ Sorry, man. I don’t recall anything from that question.

@Hawkace Haha, it’s cool. Do you think -3 on CR would give me an 800?

@Hawkace Can you predict scores of my writing and math?
M: omitted 5 wrong:2
W: omitted 4 wrong 2 essay 8-9

Moderator’s Note At this point, nobody will remember the answers/curve, etc. from March. However, most of the questions were answered in a more timely fashion in the preceding 87 pages. I am closing this thread for new posts, but you can search and the answer to your question is probably contained within.
