@mmk2015 My D received an email from them about a summer visit program. The first time she received the email, it only listed old SAT cut-off to apply. The second time it had new SAT score as well.
^Wow, that’s pretty revealing! Thanks for the insight!
Wouldn’t 1270 new = 1300 old be a good thing? Meaning you have to score lower on the new test to get an invite?
@mmk2015, OK, now I’m just totally confused. Based on everything we’ve seen so far (concordance tables), it would appear that it should be the other way around–my brain hurts.
Really collegeboard, the curve was so bad. I got a 1570 and I missed 1 in math, 1 in reading, and 1 in writing. Should I retake the SAT or am I done with standardized testing?
@Harryp17 you’re done when you’re only 30 points off from a perfect score buddy.
You’re confused? Me too!
But that was a statement made by one parent. We still don’t know if this will be a trend or not.
Eventually more colleges might decide to post minimum Old and New SAT scores. Then we’ll have a better understanding of how these colleges are viewing the new scores.
@itsgettingreal17, is it possible for you to post what you learned on a new discussion?
Maybe title it: Texas A&M treating Old SAT 1300 as New SAT 1270.
That will start a huge discussion that will probably shed light on how some of the colleges will use the new numbers. Other parents and students will probably come forward and maybe share similar stories.
Because what you’re saying goes completely against the “inflated” numbers stories that everyone is printing.
This document pertains to the old SAT. Many top colleges have changed their policy this year since the SAT essay is now optional.

Guys I know I have asked this before but can anyone post a link or tell me where they found out that the April SAT School day scores come out on Wednesday. Also is there a discussion for it?
So now that scores have been released, what did you guys get on the March 2016 SAT? Can you start posting scores and percentiles? https://studentscores.collegeboard.org/home
(I tried to take it but was not allowed in, per College Board Policy.)
I got 35 in ACT, and 1550 in SAT, is it worth to retake to get 36 or above 1550 ?
No. Move on. Spend the time on your essays.
@Harryp17 You are done buddy! Congratulations! Best of luck.
1510 comp on april school day. 740 reading and 770 math. 3 sevens on the essay. For reference, i got a 33 act in February, 33 essay. The scores seem consistent based on the board’s concordance tables, but I honestly don’t know how much to trust them.
March SAT: 1510
750 M
760 R
7/6/7 essay
Took it on May 7th, I believe scores will come out for that on June 16th. Seems like everyone’s done well so far.
i am going to take my 1st SAT on 4 June wish to score a perfect
Any reason why couple of my friends are retaking to get either 36 or above 1550 ?
