March 21 Still no letter from Loyola Marymount University

Congratulations, @harrycrow !

Late to the party, but I’ve been accepted on May 13th- finance major

I had a discouraging 3.38 GPA, however, I’m more than confident that I compensated it with a well written personal statement and essay. Also, I had experience in investing, so that gave me a leg up as a finance major, which I mentioned in my personal statement.

Mind you that I did take core classes at my CC and my transcript progressed after each semester.

To those who are worried about their GPA:
There is hope. Work hard and display your efforts through your transcript. If you initially started off with terrible grades in your beginning semesters at CC (me), show progress after. They will recognize it. Also, work according to your major or have a life outside of academia. These activities/hobbies will show the character you inherit through everything. And since we can only prove the recruiters through a document, perceptions from hobbies cause great influence through the way we write. So, dream and act on!

Good Luck~
