March SAT Math Thread

Was that 43 or 44?

^That’s what I was wondering. I think it was 44, not sure though.

93 was the average. 88 was the median. The question asked for the median, apparently. I thought it asked for the average.

Does anyone know the date the scores are being released?

Was that 43 or 44?

Idk was it a free response? I dont remember haha.

Its definitely k - 4. Given: x^2 - 12 = k so x = (k + 12)^(1/2). Now (x + 4)(x - 4) = x^2 - 16, thus plugging in x = (k + 12)^(1/2) we get [(k+12)^(1/2)]^2 - 16 = k + 12 -16 = k -4. Not exactly rocket science.

It wasn’t a free response… and scores are released APRIL 1ST DAMNIT. I just answered that twice. :\ And yay, I finally got one that a lot of people didn’t. 88 was the median, score. :D

I believe the scores will be released on April 1st

does ANYONE remember what ANY of the other answer choices were???

x < 0 < y < 1 < z

the answer was xz for what combo would give you the smallest, but any idea what else was an answer choice?

^
xz was E

What the heck was the median score question even asking? I thought it asked what number did you need to make the median 88? I put 93. Ooooh, because I did the mean.

a) x^2
b) ??
c) y/z
d) y - z
e) xz

For the one with the bisecting parallel lines. There were two angles given – Angle X [I forget] and Angle [43 or 44]. The answer to the question was 43 if the Angle was 44, and the answer to the question was 44 if the Angle was 43.

Does anyone remember getting 40 for a parallelogram asking you for the angle of z, when x = 80, and y was either 60 or 30?

don’t you mean if the angle was 47 it’s 43 and if it’s 46, the answer’s 44?
Parallelogram problem was experimental, because I don’t remember it.

No, not the parallel lines problem. It was a parallelogram. It might have been experimental, then.

No, I’m pretty sure about what I said.

The answer to the angle problem was 43.

Yeah, I think I put 43.

Angle was 43 I believe. Cause the two lines that looked perpendicular weren’t (91/89).
