March SAT Math Thread

I think that was experimental. Someone without math experimental please confirm.

There was another question that was x>y…which of these statements is correct?

I. x^2-y^2>0
II. (x-y)^2>0
III. x + y>0

Statement II is the only correct one.

For the Oak question was it fine to bubble in .36 instead of the fractions? cuz i did

i had a writing experimental. the 7x question is def not experimental

anyone want to confirm my answer with the x>y one?

mzargar721: please confirm that the x>y was not experimental.

it was II only.

the choice reads: (y-z)^2 is positive

squaring any value yields a positive number

@Linger, fraction or decimal is fine.

7x (7x+1=3, which of the following equals 2)
(x-y)^2>0 (choice II) will be positive, out of 3 options

was there an option x = 4 for the g(6)…because for some odd reason I think I may have picked that… (the only cause of that could could have been not reading the x value properly at the f(x) max at 6…which would be embarassing)

what was the RP-PR=0 question i dont recall that one at all.

there was a question that was like:

a/3 = (a+2)/4

answer: a=6

[not sure if it was experimental or not though]

linger, it was the first question to one of the sections

I also remember getting 1/8 for an answer…

it was like

5/x = 4, what is x/10?

@linger: the question was like: if P is 2 and R is -3 what is PR-RP

@pianofish: yes a=6

@gziwi77: x/10 is 1/8

I’m looking at a -2 right now. 750?

ok thanks piano that probably why i dont remember it hopefully i got right (haha) im sure I did.

At this point I have a -1…but I seriously can’t remember if I put x = 4 or x = 3 (I figured out the problem…so I really deserve that), and on the angle one I’m not sure if I pu 43 or 45…and I know for a fact I had it down to 89-46… which is 43…but maybe I somehow mistyped that in my calc…either way… it would suck if I made stupid errors (more like bubble-in errors) like that.

-2 can’t be 750, can it? that sounds way too harsh.

math is harsh :/

was there a function problem in the grid-ins? i can’t remember…

so was the x=3, f(x) question an MC?
