I was on open housing, but just found out I got assigned to Margaret Morrison Apartments. I'm an incoming freshman. I guess I'm glad it's not a temporary assignment, but isn't this a primarily upper-class residence? Anybody know anything about Margaret Morrison Appts? Should I be excited or not about this?

It is an all-upperclass dorm, but you are really really lucky. Maggie Mo is on campus (it’s very close to Donner, McGill, and Boss House, which are freshmen dorms). It’s also one of the “good” apartment complexes on-campus… the apartments are super nice and they’re two floors, so you get your own kitchen/living room and two doubles upstairs.

I’m jealous. :p

Maggie Mo is one of the nicer apartments on campus. Alot of my friends live there. You are lucky to get those.

However, I really, really dislike the fact that you’re living there as a freshman. I think that all freshman should live in freshman dorms and live around other freshman to get the whole orientation, freshman year experience. Man, CMU housing is really messed up…

Thanks for the responses. I e-mailed the housing assignment staff, and got a reply saying that there would be some other freshmen in the apartments with me. If that is the case, I think it will be a good situation. So yes, I guess I am lucky.
